This unique brand new hotel is a hidden jewel in the Bodrum and 10 minutes away from the famous upscale marina of Yalikavak. Your experience will exceed your expectations the minute you will step into this modern nicely designed lobby welcomed by all these young energetic Turks, the welcome drink which I asked if possible to add some alcohol to was something out of this world and immediately will make you forget the hassle of Istanbul Airport.

Rooms are extremely nice, colors and comfortable, equipped with all what you might need to have the perfect vacation, the sea view rooms has this magnificent balcony overlooking the resort and the sea, the bathroom is modern, trendy and simply amazing.

The hotel is build on a cliff, so might not be the perfect place for families with kids and that to me was an add, because during 5 nights we saw only few kids and frankly they were nasty, but luckily we were by the pool and lifeguards didn’t allow them to stay. Golf carts are available 24/7, all you need to do is to ask the staff and they will call them for you.

The infinity pool is breathtaking, water temperature is perfect, service is amazing, changing room, toilets are close by, only issue it doesn’t have a bar which might be nicer if close to pool so you can have a break and fresh drink every now and then beside having a place to eat something instead of eating on your sunbed.

The beach below the pool is amazing but busy, white but not soft sand, it will do the job visually :), beds are comfortable,  have some private beds for larger groups, they take bookings. Beach attendants are nice, managed by a nice helpful Greek lady, speak English which is something very rare in Turkey, service is great, food is very good, slightly expensive but still worth it. The wooden jetty is nice and has wonderful setup, sea is very clean and friendly, maybe some music will be nice.

We didn’t try their restaurants as there are great options in the Marina close by, but breakfast was ok, limited and too Turkish for me, but nice breakfast area and better to book in advance.

Didn’t see much activities in the evening except few people gathering at the lobby terrace, it is super important to leave the hotel and head to Yalikavak Marina, busy but nice, high end shopping, restaurants, such as Zuma, Nusret, Site and Fenix, with lots of Cafes, outdoor bars and a tiny place somewhere in the middle have life band playing nice Turkish music, the Marina is packed with fancy boats, busier than most of the cities you have been to, but nicely designed and makes the walk along the pedestrian area nice and safe.

Sea food restaurants there are nice, Site is a famous sea food, packed and touristic, staff are ok, food display is confusing especially with lack of English speaking waiters, but over all food was very good, but if you want an excellent sea food place, it is 10 minutes away by taxi you will find the Great Memedof Balik restaurant, authentic, friendly staff, many locals and less touristic, food is amazing, fresh and tasty, service is very good and relatively cheap.

Nusret is over rated, very busy and the same greasy taste like everywhere else and even more, no bookings, so you might end up waiting for a good hour or more especially if Nusret is there. It was a painful experience and you might end up just like us sharing a table with strangers just for the sake of having that greasymeet cut by Nusret then to be ripped off adding the show cost on you.

Zuma was amazing, nice quite, beautiful music, great pool and setup at night, food was excellent and if you compare this one to any other Nobu in the world, it is 80% cheaper.

Transportation is easy, if you are staying at the Edition, they have a house car, very nice modern Range Rover, but usually very busy and hard to find, driving is not easy in Turkey, drivers are freaky and it could be insane, but taxis are cheap and honest, they are available all the time from taxi stations near major attractions, but it gets busy and better to arrange for taxi especially when leaving the hotel.

We didn’t go to see old Bodrum, a bit far and we were told it doesn’t have much to offer, but we took a taxi to an area close by Turkbuku to have dinner and walk around, all I can say about it, DON’T GO! Dirty, street dogs, cheap shopping, if you want nice fancy clean, stay at Yalikavak and enjoy it.
